Kadet Life was the result of a late night internet purchase.

Although Nathan Moore frequently doodled as a child, he stopped regularly drawing by the time he reached the 5th grade. However, sometime in late 2014 and during one of Nathans trademark panic induced all-nighters, he took a break from furiously typing up a paper to order more shoe polish and stumbled upon a $100 USB plug-in tablet on sale for $30. The chaotic shambles of confusion that Nathan use to draw on paper were resurrected to terrorize the digital age.

Expecting to garner no more than 20 followers when he first published his drawings on Facebook, Nathan named the series "Keydet Life." Miraculously it now stands at more than 4,000. As KL's popularity grew, Nathan looked for a better platform to archive and organize his take on life as a VMI Keydet by creating this website and changed the name to the non-copyright infringing "Kadet Life."

KL continues to publish content on an irregular basis because the author isn't beholden to anyone but himself for deadlines. Fortunately for those who enjoy his comics, Nathan has discovered that he is addicted to getting attention, "likes," and "shares" on Facebook and looking at the visitor count to his website as a form of validation. This helps him handle the bitterness he feels for being at VMI and compensates for his deep insecurities.

So far Kadet Life has not gotten Nathan in significant trouble with the Commandants Office.
